Bottle. Pour is brown with a floral and nutty aroma. Flavor is well blended with a strong malty toffee character, some spice, cloves, and banana. Body is smooth and medium to light. Real good brew.

(bottle) pours a clear reddish-brown colour with a tall off-white head. aroma of brown sugar and caramel, herbal hops, some hints of alcohol and fruity notes of strawberries and banana. flavour is mostly dark roasted malts and bread, alcohol is well-hidden. medium body with fizzy carbonation.

12oz bottle. Pours clear amber brown with lots of effervescence, topped with a huge fluffy tan head. Very fruity aroma, with notes of yeast and caramel. Flavor is quite fruity as well; dark fruit, toffee, Belgian yeast, candi sugar, and a touch of molasses round out the palate. Dark fruit, spice and pepper persist for a long finish. Body is much thinner than anticipated. Drinkable, but not as exciting as I remember.

Pours a nice hazy amber brown colour with a medium beige head. The aroma is of sweet fruits and caramel malts. The taste is a little sweet and spicy with a mild bitterness. It is medium bodied and has that alcohol finish that warms your body a bit. Overall a nice beer but nothing spectacular.

330ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors in MA. This was just a wonderful beer. Pours with a smallish head but retains nicely and has good lacing. The aroma was like a typical abbey beer, but wow - this thing has a lively taste like you wouldn’t believe! Quite alcohol-ey but extremely well balanced against other flavors like caramel and chocolate. A really fine beer.

smells sweet, spicy and malty. The flavours are virtually the same. Quite sweet, with hints of aniseed. Finish is a bit bitter and alcoholic. I love the dark malt.
