Deep, dark, amber coloured beer with a lasting creamy off white head, aroma is sweet, caramely and full of dried fruits. Taste is less sweet then the aroma implies being malty and slightly bitter, to much carbonation for me.

Maybe the only trappist label that i don’t like at all. Nice aroma but the taste is a little bit shock. Nothing more to say. Achel Blond & Achel Extra Bruin are very nice.

Bottle 330 ml. Dark brown colour. Lasting thin head. Not much for taste, disappointing overall.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a foamy beige head that lasts ages. Aroma is sweet and a little boozy with notes of caramel, brown sugar, dates and raisins. Flavour is sweet and malty, with the alcohol not so noticeable, and has plenty of dark fruit and spice as well. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth but is a bit prickly from the high carbonation and finishes roasty and mildly bitter. A good, complex trappist ale that is quite easy to drink but is like a mixture of styles and reminds me of the La Trappe Quadrupel.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bluebetty (820) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 1, 2010
Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany. Very rocky beige head that took a while to fall away. Some lacing. Aromas show plenty of dark fruit, a little sweet malt and perhaps just a little alcohol. Tastes once again of dark fruity with pelnty of fruity esters and typical belgium yeast aromas. Mohtfeel is a little thin and the carbonation seemed slightly too high to me. Not too bad.

Pours a deep red with a fluffy, off-white head that lasts long. Lots of great fruit on the nose. Full, round, chewy mouthfeel. Esters are throughout the entire taste palate, with great balance - some spice at the back of the palate. Lots of carbonation as well.

Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of fruit, and some other hints, maybe some spices, maybe caramel. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and a hint of hops with a nice bittersweet finish.

Pours a clear amber color with a thick, lasting, foamy, off-white head. Quite complex aroma of fresh bread, caramel, brown sugar and spice. Flavor is less sweet then I expected, with the spices dominating and a nice bitterness that comes straight on. There is still some sweetness and very lively carbonation. Nice beer.
