Pours a dark mahogany color with a pretty large tope colored head. Nose is booze, raisins, port, and sugar, taste is the same with more molasses and plums. Not bad and feels decent in the mouth while being highly quaffable at 8 percent.

Gift from Jason in Germany. Full bodied, somewhat sweet with caramel and roasted malt. Worth seeking out.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (4531) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 9, 2008
Bottle at Winking Lizard. This beer pours a mostly clear dark brownish-amber color with a thick and fluffy beige head that diminishes slowly. Large patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of burnt malt, plums and other tart fruit. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, caramel, and spiced apples. Touches of vanilla as well. The finish is fruity with a caramel malt aftertaste. Not on the level of the best of breed Trappist Ales, but a pretty good drink nonetheless.

Dark cloudy brown with a small white head. Not my favorite beer ever but definitely not the worst ever. Tasted kind of pukey.

I tasted this beer before I got my account with ratebeer, so I can’t really remember all the flavors.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 lithy (2913) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 28, 2008
bottle date 11/2005. Dark brown, murky with a thin off white head that leaves only a lasting cover. Big ugly black floaties settle in the bottom of the goblet. Yeasty clove and spice aroma some caramel maltiness and candi sugar. Then brown sugar and alcohol. Silky but lively on the tongue then a rush of brown sugar, molasses, plums, raisins, honey, caramel and maltiness. Slight figs and oxidation on this bottle, wonderful.
