Mudy brown, chesnut color and very hazy with nice rocky beige head on top. Aroma is bready, very malty and soft sweet with touches of cake and slight raisinaromas in the nose. Taste is soft, very mild and very tasteful. The beer leaves a mild and bread like caracter with a complex twist of raisin bread, cereals and nuts. Long soft afthertaste.

33cl bottle from Beer World (Largo, FL). Pours a dark, dirty brown with thin tan had that dissipates quickly and produces minimal lacing on the glass. Smells of caramel, honey, ripe, dark fruit, maple syrup. Full-bodied beer with a somewhat quick finish. Nice trappist ale.

Funny that I haven’t rated this one yet, it awas one of my first Belgian beers ever. As with most, I love it. Dark amber pour with a fluffy head. Aromas and flavors of malt, dried fruit, yeast and maybe some hints of wood. Nice.

Nice brown amber colour. White head. Raisins and malt in the nose. Soft and lightly hopped. Not too sweat. Small bottle enjoyed in Kaisla.

Superb -- a proper ale indeed. Choose/buy/drink it without any hesitation whatsoever.

Smellls like candied fruit and alchohol. Taste knocks it out of the park. Sweet maltiness, clean yeast, low ibu hoppines. On the sweet end of the spectrum but well balanced.

Geiserich (2278) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - MAY 24, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2009 Bottled: Aroma with notes of cacao, chocolate and candies. Hazy brown color, off-white head. Flavor of sweet dark chocolate, roasted malt and candies. Hints of alcohol in the end, few hints of roasted malt. Harmonic beer.

Pour is a dark brown with a foamy light brown head that lasted forever. Malt, spice, and dates/prune to the nose. Flavor is intense and complex, made up of the same characteristics. THis one definitely becomes easier to appreciate as it warms.
