3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy burgundy brown with big off white head and good lacing. Aromas of dried dark fruit and some apple, Belgian yeast and some spiciness. Flavors of dark fruits with brown sugar sweetness and some mild spice and yeastiness. Finish has a hint of apple tartness. High carbonation that helps give the beer a medium-full mouthfeel. Finishes somewhat sweet but still fairly dry. Nice Trappist dubbel.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle@home in footed glass@approx 9 degrees C. Pours reddish brown with off-white head with good retention and lacing. Surprisingly faint aroma is compensated by the very well balanced taste, carbonation and mouthfeel. A lot of malt, a lot of dried fruits and a little spice and yeast adds up to a very well balanced Bruin with the fruitcake assosiations strong without becoming owerpowering. The alcohol is kept very well in check and only manifests itself slightly in the complex, malty, hoppy, fruity aftertaste. Very good Bruin suitable for a winters day in my taste.

Easy drinkable, although high carbonisation. Not so bad at all.. Kind a same wet dog aftertaste same as Achel Blonde. But I kind I liked hints of caramels and sparkling wine. Decent brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bit overcarbonated, simple, at some point even watery, tho quite nice dubbelish. Malty background, some caramel, light dried fruits, some earthy hops, light yeast. Light sweetness all the way with ultra light bitterness
in finish. Decent

Bottle at le coq. Nostalgia! Lovely Dubbel. Rich fruitiness, ovaltine maltiness, dry, cocoa, quite initial hit of bitterness too though. Finish is caramel and smooth. Forgot how great this is.

3.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a cloudy red-brown with a thin head tat dissipates quickly. Very light in the mouth and smooth to drink. Initially tastes of figs, raisins, dandelion & burdock (weird), then mellows to trace elements of strawberries, caramel and a sweet liquorice taste, that stays with you.

4.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma doesn’t give much away but that could be because I’m more or less anosmic. Appearance is a wonderful rich reddy brown with a great amber head little lacing. Lively but not overpowering carbonation. Taste is everything with this brew, rich yet weirdly light, getting raisins, figs, dandelion and burdock tastes coming through. Heavy yet strangely sessionable. The best Belgian bruin by a mile. (In my experience at least). Would recommend in a heartbeat.
