(Bottle) Pours hazy brown. Sweet, dried fruits aroma with allmond and raisin. Sugary and maybe some honey hints. Earthy undertones with wet tobacco. Small notes of spices and sour cherries. Sweet flavour with brown sugar, toffee and some chocolate. Rather light body. Alcohol and sour hints.

aroma dark fruits and stuff. appearance was muddy with debris, but a very nice, no. extremely nice head. flavor caramel toffee, pepper/chilli, licorice.palate foamy and bubbly, this beer is more like a dessert than a beer, but still quite enjoyable.

Poured a deep chestnut color. Light fruity flavor with hint of brown sugar. Not my favorite trappist but very good.

Bottle. Berry aroma with a slight alcohol scent. Dark red color. Slighty sweet, yeasty intial taste. Heavily carbonated with a dry sweet finish. To me it almost resembles a sour or I would blasphemously say champagne.

jaghana (2077) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - JUL 17, 2010
Bottle 33cl. A cloudy brown ale with a very huge brownish head that goes down slowly with nice lacing. Smell is on yeast and some grassy hay with toasted notes. Aroma is on candy sugar, some spices, bit agrume and acid. The malty character is low to medium, finish is medium with grassy and toasted notes. Bit disappointing for a brown trappist.

Pours with big head. Cherry brown color. Crisp clean taste some caramel with a hint of sweetness. Couldn't detect anything that stood out in the nose. Alcohol well hidden. Pleasant but not outstanding.

Papsoe (22946) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 30, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) This one has been in my stockroom for at least a couple of years. Almost orange brown color with large quantities of impurities. Sweet with an underlying bitterness, which lasts all the way to the palate. Not particularly full-bodied despite the strength. And not particularly refined either. 221104

Bottle. Cloudy amber colour with a huge off-white head. Sweet fruity flavour, candy and cherries. Moderate flavour, a bit burned and almost thin despite the alcohol content. Slightly rough mouthfeel.

Orangered. Nose of dried fruit, pears and apricots. Tones of almonds and acetone. Thin and sourish with tones of acetone. Not quite my cup of tea
