Pretty good but not in the league of Rochefort or Westvleteren. It’s a little bit "hot" but not so much so as the regular 8. It lacks the caramel plum smoothness of the much stronger, previously mentioned beers. This one tastes like 12% where the others taste more like this beer’s 8%. It does have a nice warming effect though. Overall a good beer but not as much so when I can buy Rochefort 10 for the same price.

Lekkere smaak, zachte afdronk. Niet bitter, goede schuimkraag die lang standhoud.

Bottle. Chocolate caramel malt and fresh hay aroma. Cloudy brown with moderate head. Moderately sweet chocolate caramel malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Good body. Surprisingly light for 8%.

Excellente trappist! "A chel douceur"!!!!!!&

A bottle at the Cafe Bastille, between Gong Guan and Taipower Building. Aroma: good vegetal freshness. Appearance: turbid, a rich chocolate brown with minimal head. Palate: very little carbonation to speak of, predominantly sweet with a long finish. Taste: sweetly astringent, but a metallic note leaves it the wrong side of bitter for me. A solidly complex Trappist, but not my favourite by any means.

No capto malta y no capto lúpulo.

Aroma of sweet bread crust, burned caramel, light fruity esters, dried fruit. Beautiful classic Belgian strong aroma. Dark brown, quite clear with low to medium head, light tan head color. Taste is mellow, light tart, light burned caramel notes, light hoppiness, light fruity esters, burned bread crust. Very gentle but complex taste and mainly sweet and tart, bitterness is almost none. Afterstaste is caramel malts mainly. Light body but not watery, medium carbonation. Very nice gentle and complex beer, very drinkable!

Aroma is figs, booze, wood, metallic, even within the best by date, deep robust. Appearance is dark brown, light tan head, too dark to see through. Taste is wood, dark fruit, figs, booze, spice, standard. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, figs and wood aftertaste. Overall, this is solidly middle of the road.
