3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Huge, fine-yellowish head over deep orange beer, hazy. Dry, spicy, white candi sugar. Bit flowery, and alcohol lurking. Very dry, spicy taste, bit of liquorice. Vague celeri, or other vegetable - even cilandro. Again, suspicion of white candi sugar. Warming up, almonds, and, strangely enough, some hops coming up. Alcoholwarming, meidum bodied, slick, quite carbonated. Good beer, but nothing original to it.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle->trappist: Pours a large, rocky, white head atop a cloudy orange body that exhibits good lacing. Light malt aroma, average yeast aroma. The body is light, the texture is thin, and has fizzy carbonation. The flavor’s duration is short, being lightly sweet. Has a clean finish and could be a dangerous brew if you have a bunch of them sitting around.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
(750ml bottle purchased in early 2008) Pours very tall soapy head, about 1 inch high in a traditionally sized pint glass. Brown/orange colored body. Lots of carbonation. Very clear so might be filtered. Muted Belgian "nose." Body may have been thinned by sitting in my downstairs fridge for so long, though there’s really not much sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Flavors of banana, light clove and chewing gum. Spices linger for a short amount of time on the palate. I wish it had more body and a stronger flavor, especially considering the price it was (Can’t remember but it was something like $15/btl)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
The appearance of cloudy tea with a nice white foamy head that has good retention. Aroma is yeast and fruit, even a bit funky. Flavor is peppery spice, fruity with plenty of esters. It is sweet but not sugary. Feel is medium bodied with peppery zing. Alcohol sneaks up on you. Temperature does good things to this beer. Enjoyable, refreshing, and just plain good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. ASCA is burnt orange with ruby highlights in color. The head starts off large but settles quickly leaving nice lacing. This is an attractive beer. The aroma is mostly banana and yeast. If the aroma was a tad stronger it would be better. The body is on the thick side and heavy on the carbonation. I taste alcohol, light tangerine and plantains. There is a touch of spice that isn’t cinnamon, nutmeg, clove or garlic though. I am having a hard time pinpointing it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the Christmas in Belgium sampler pack. Pours amber with a nice white head. Aroma is spicy sweet with some yeasty earthiness. Flavor is caramel malty, some spice with a slight hoppy bitterness (citrus/spruciness) in the finish. Not bad, not great!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy orange, ok head goes down fast. Clovish sprucy aroma, gingerbread. Semi-sweet flavor, with surprising dose of piney hops. Medium-thick bodied. A lot of yeast-feel towards the end. Amazing how all of these "Christmas in Belgium" beers taste so similar despite being different, and I mean this, Pere Noel, Kerstmutske, and Zinnebir X-mas, I haven’t gotten to Winterkoninkske yet. Watch that one taste inexplicably like a Christmas tree.
