4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark brown with a big long lasting head. Sweet with soem breadiness. Aromas of dark fruits, prunes & plums and alcohol. Port like slightly vinous. Sweet dry finish. Medium to full bodied. Very nice beer and not as bitter as the Serafijn Blond.

Bottled. Dark red colour, small beige head. Strong plummy aroma. Strong plum and caramellish malts in flavour. Licorace also noteable in finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown and VERY bubbly. Had to leave it for 5 min. before drinking! Aromatic, earthy, frest and fruity. The flavour is earthy, fresh, dried fruits. A bit like the classic abbey ales, but lighter. Excellent beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown with an underlying orange hue. Huge, bubbly, beige head which collapses rather fast. Unclear with a large sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Lovely aromas of dried fruit and some sweet caramel, but actually the body is rather light. The alcohol is dangerously well hidden. Limited bitterness in the finish. Unfortunately this is overly carbonated which is a major drawback in an otherwise excellent beer. 010605

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge fizzy head. I had to take a trip to the sink with this one. but it settled into a nice little, quite steady head. This is -however- a big time burp-inducer. But about the flavor: It’s complex and very interesting. Typical abbey-style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
a sim rate:
It’s not really a dark (or donker) as the bottle states. It’s more like an amber. Great taste that leaves you wanting more! Tastes like a roast dinner: all 3 courses!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep amber color with faint green glow. Great fluffy off white head and aroma’s of candy sugar, cookies, malts and some sweet alcohol. Also vegetal accents in the nose, herbs grass and hops. In the taste, hints of koekebrood, burned bread crust, brown sugar, cakes, and burned caramel malts. In the second fase, touches of vegetal bitternes.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer has a brown body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is branded.
