COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark brown Serafijn has a spicey herbal character and a soft bitterness. The Achilles brewery has a unique way of achieving an even heating of the wort: using no direct flame or steam, the wort is pumped through a spiral that sits in a tub of hot water!

a sim rate: It’s not really a dark (or donker) as the bottle states. It’s more like an amber. Great taste that leaves you wanting more! Tastes like a roast dinner: all 3 courses!

Deep amber color with faint green glow. Great fluffy off white head and aroma’s of candy sugar, cookies, malts and some sweet alcohol. Also vegetal accents in the nose, herbs grass and hops. In the taste, hints of koekebrood, burned bread crust, brown sugar, cakes, and burned caramel malts. In the second fase, touches of vegetal bitternes.

This beer has a brown body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is branded.

Amber. Malty, nutty aroma with creamy notes. I just cant help loving beers like this one. Malty, nutty flavor with some fruits. Very smooth and a great surprise.

JorisPPattyn (7716) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 22, 2004
Amber-brown, greenish shine; huge pinkish-amber head. Biscuit and alcohol for starters, then getting very grassy-leafy, bit hoppy. Very caramelly-roasted/burnt malt taste, quite bitter with sweet underbuild. Again a leafy flavour. Medium bodied, harsh burning MF. Bit unrefined dark ale, emphasised on burnt malts.

Amber with a large frothy head. Sweet aroma of caramel, toffee and yeast. Simple flavour of dark fruit and caramel. Spicy and quite alcoholic finish.
