3/IV/14 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: 16/VIII/14 (2014-331)

Clear orange beer, creamy solid off-white head, stable, adhesive. Aroma: lots of caramel, vanilla, very sugary, sweet malts. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: some banana, sweet, malty, bit sourish, sugary, little bitter, some orange peel. Aftertaste: lots of banana, banana peel, unpleasant bitterness, some overripe fruits.

Dorée claire, effervescence moyenne-fine, col beige clair.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Golden with a white head. Nose is sweet pears, heavy on bitter esters mixed with white sugar sweetness. Taste is bitter grains, esters upfront, very bitter herbal, quite a bit of hops. Grainy & sparkling body. so/so, bit dull even if there is nothing per se wrong with it.

Bottle from park Towne. Pours clear orange with a large white head and active bubbles in the glass. The aroma has some light fig, brown sugar, raisin.. Not pungent. The taste is almost baby quad. Some fig, raisins, plum, brown sugar and a slight tart finish.

Hazy amber pour with a big soapy head. Smell is fruity, some spice, caramael malts, slight oxidation. Flavor is interesting. Sweet malts, butterscotch, caramel, ripe fruit, spices, slightly tart. It is definitely complex but maybe not as rich as possible.

Aroma is yeast, sharp spices/citrus and a small hint of mustiness. The flavor is citrus, dark fruit, mild sugar notes and a mix of sour and tangy in the finish.
