Commercial Description:
Acme IPA is profoundly hoppy, finished with over a pound of fresh whole hops per barrel. The result of this generous hopping is a beer that is deliciously dry, and eminently drinkable in spite of its apparent strength.

Bottle. Hazy golden with large white head. The bottle is a bit old and have been stored in a warm location. It doesn’t taste bad however! The bitterness dominates. Floral. Slightly metallic.

12 oz bottle from Trader Joes. Pours a translucent gold-copper color with a big foamy white head that has good retention and lacing. The aroma is mostly musty citrus with a touch of cardboard. The flavor is hops forward with biter walnuts and toffee, and the citrus is lost somewhere way in the back. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is long and biter with a bit of biscuit. Overall: This beer is seems out of balance, there is no Zen harmony here.

Light orange-copper with big foamy, off-white head / Very lIght citrus nose / Light to medium body, some sweet malts with dry, bitter hop character predominating and carrying through on fair, slightly hot, bitter finish / Flavors of spun sugar with grapefruit and orange notes / Good, but bitterness is the overwhelms the weak fruit.

Poured from bottle, clear goldish amber in color. Nice sized thick head that left considerable lacing on my glass. Not much nose to speak of. Good almost dry taste with a hint of smoke. Overall a decent IPA.

Dark yellow with a good thick near white head. Little aroma. Perhaps I got an old bottle. Almost entirely hop bitterness with just a tiny bit of sweet malt way back. I like hops, so this one I’ll have to give another try when it might be fresh. This is just too much bitter without anything to back it up, making the finish very rough indeed!

This a really good solid IPA. Not as Hoppy as some IPA that I like but still nicely flavored with hops. Thicker than most IPA, little bit cloudy, nice fluffy head not a lot of lacing though. Has a nice dry/citrus flavor I associate with a Cali IPA. The aroma was very mild. Really very good standard IPA. Check out my blog at tulsafirstdraft.blogspot.com

Very very dry. Very floral and hoppy. Also spicy and thick, with the malt flavors hinting of caramel. Pretty good IPA in my book, not sure why it’s not rated higher.

OVERDONE. I like generous amounts of citrus and hops but this has that rusted penny type flavor even though I dig the dry aftertaste and sticky citrus qualities.
