COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Acme IPA is profoundly hoppy, finished with over a pound of fresh whole hops per barrel. The result of this generous hopping is a beer that is deliciously dry, and eminently drinkable in spite of its apparent strength.

GoufCustom (622) - HONG KONG - NOV 19, 2013

355 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.

Cloudy hazy golden amber colour with traces of yeast sediments; One finger head and off white foam which lasts for 1 minute; Excellent sticky lacing with lively carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of grapefruit, orange peel and fresh, honey, light jackfruit, ale malt, molasses, light pine, lime, and light grass; Medium sweet taste of ale malt, with dry biscuits, light yeast, alcohol, molasses, light grapefruit, liquorices, rock salt, lime and herbal hops; Medium body, quite thick and slick palate; Taste profile is dry and biscuity ale malt. Mouth feel is rich, with surprisingly strong liquorices, booze and saltiness. Grapefruit taste is low and barely lurking in the background. Interesting; The 6.9% booze was initially a bit harsh, but getting smooth with further sips. Not poorly made, but it can be felt; Hoppiness is very fragrant critus and some tropical fruit nose, light fruit and strong hop taste. Bitterness is close to German Pils with lingering, a bit salty finish; Very dry after taste, hoppy yet easy to mouth.

Comments: This one is ambitious: just the looks, body and fragrant fruity nose would have win any IPA lovers over. Yet somehow, the taste is more like an APA, with monotone bitterness and even saltiness overtake everything else. Looks like they trade of the fruity taste for attractive nose. I like it, but not as much as I like SN’s Torpedo Extra.

On draft. Pours a light amber with a white head. Mild bitterness for an IPA. A little sweet. Very drinkable though. Watery mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a bright orange with a thick white head and lacing through out the entire glass, actually pretty decent looking, aroma has a nice hop touch with a little bit of pine, the flavor has a light hop front end with some pine and bitterness in the finish, more of a dry pine ipa than a fruity citrus, still pretty drinkable, not terrible by any means.

2013 bottle to an IPA glass. Pours a clear light golden yellow with a big foamy white head and good lacing. Aroma is caramel and malt with some citrus and a little grassy hops. Taste follows nose with the hops coming through stronger and taking on some pine as well as grass. Medium dry mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance is a hazy golden orange supporting a steady head leaving. Smell and taste has citrus grapefruit, sweet caramel malt creating a good balance. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall a fair IPA.

Draft at Toad in the Hole. Orangey glowing liquid with small foam cap. Reclusive grapefruit aroma is barely evident. Brisk bitterness and subdued citrus taste. Not as much late hopping goodness as the best West Coast offerings.

12oz bottle. Chewy, fruity hop aroma (orange/grapefruit/cranberry). Solid malt background. Big, dry bitterness. Noticeably boozy with a sticky mouthfeel.
