4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Musty clouded peachy yellow color, steady bubbles within, a very appetizing appearance to it, with a fine off-white medium sized froth that sits a good while before settling to a solid skim. Lacing sticks in some ink blobby sheeting.
Aroma is of a nice hop medley of woody, citrus mint, sweetly resinous with a nice pale malt of stale crisp bread.
Flavors are good in both the hop profile and malt backing, hops are slightly popping with a good zip of citrus, but maintains a mild front, more eager as it rides through to the finish where it gets a nice complex woody hop and bitterness clinging onto a very crisp pale malting. It takes awhile for the finish to render its full potential, but if your patient it makes a very welcome bite and squeeze of hops. Nice left over citrus pith and sourness brings an almost ghostly finish very late. Nice, quite nice. If it werenít for a mediocre start this would get a better number in the taste dept, but where it lacks in the front well makes up for it in the finish.
Feel is just right for an IPA, frothy yet slick and calming with a creamy front, gains an excellent hopping in the finish of bittering bite and dryness all maintained in a well balanced nearly full body. Well balanced throughout with a slight sweet front, malt stays firm yet crispy adding a grainier build towards the finish where the hops get fun and helps add a nice bite late.
This was gone in no time. Super drinkable and an outstandingly handled IPA. The west coast, or in this case, North Coast, has a yummy little drinker here. Solid offering!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light orange in colour with a thin head. Aroma of light floral hops with citrus in the background. Flavour was fairly light, floral hops. Light body and light carbonation. Finishes with a mild bitterness, fairly quick. Average.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread), moderately hoppy (grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. I prefer the pale ale to this...the malt just doesnít hold this one up, so itís unbalanced in both the aroma and flavor (even for an IPA). Very grapefruity and palate scraping.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. 51 degrees. Served in NB "worthy" tulip glass. Dark orange color with an off white head and nice lacing. Orange blossom honey aroma, sweet and citrusy. Hops-driven taste with citrus fruits. Not too bitter, but with a nice bite. Nice mouthfeel. Dry finish with nice citrusy residual flavors. Easy drinking beer that could easily get you in trouble @ 7.1%. Thanks Jay!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured an orange with a small white bubbly head that faded quickly. Fruity hop aroma. Nice fruity hop taste. Not as powerful as some of the other California IPAís.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(12 oz bottle: Trader Joeís in Pacific Beach, CA) This is a somewhat pedestrian IPA, not tremendously flavorful, but itís pleasant enough to be a okay session IPA. Moderate malty character is lightly bready and is matched by a moderately bitter and citrusy hoppiness, and the two stay in balance from start to finish. The finish tastes a bit like unsweetened ice tea. Not a whole lot of aromas to this beer, but itís mildly bready and hoppy. Medium bodied. Light golden color and somewhat cloudy. Plenty of off-white head during the pour, and thanks to significant assistance from rapidly rising carbonation bubbles, retention is pretty solid, maintaining a nice cap on the beer. Patchy lacing is also pretty decent.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy golden, white creamy head. Uninspired nose of citrus, florals, toffee, with some light bready notes. Well bittered and decently balanced with the sweet malt. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying bitter finish. Donít go out of your way....

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: clear, deep orange hue, with a full, frothy white head.
Aroma: big hops, grapefruit, pineapple, orange, large fruit in the nose, very enticing and inviting.
On the palate, smooth, and very mellow, without too much tumult on the tongue. Solid body, excellent balance, and possessing a very nice flavor which lasts and lasts, persisting on the palate. Yum, yum.
I was hoping for a hoppier bite, and had to realize that a good IPA doesnít have to be a Ruination or Dreadnaught. Sometimes, they can "just" be smooth and delcious, like this one.
