3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Ok nose. Sour citrus orange/grapefruit that dulls the more you sniff it. Clear orange yellow color. Head that stayed for a while, clung to side of glass. Green hops taste, Pretty bitter, very one sided as the pale malts make little difference. Bitterness lasts a while. Very drinkable though.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Has a nice root beer float head. Hoppy aroma. Golden amber color. Initially sweet but dry on the palate and aftertaste. Fairly balanced but not to the extent of a really good IPA. Another good effort.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Good IPA. Pours out of the bottle with a perfect head and nice carmel color. As expected, hops are in abundance but this is what I prefer in a beer. One of my favorite IPA's!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bootle. love the aroma very hoppy. The flavor is very much an IPA, nice hoppy flavor with a bitter finish. Good citrus (orange) flavor. Another good California IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden amber with a moderate white head and some lacing. Nice aroma, honey, caramel malts, bold hops and oranges. Malt flavors are almost overpowered by the hop bitterness, but oddly enough it finishes sweet. Pleasant mouthfeel, medium body and carbonated just beyond creamy. Nice IPA

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. Nose is mild hops and sweet. Flavor: Starts light and sweet then a grapefruity tang and finishing with a light metallic tartness. Quite drinkable for a 7.1% ABV brew.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not that much of a hop aroma. Good hop bitterness throughout but not much malt to balance it. A decent IPA, but not at the top of the list.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Golden color with a foamy off-white head. A floral hop aroma that is somewhat better than the flavor. A fair balance on the palate.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2007 Poured incredibly light yellow-orange for an IPA; average small-bubbly head. Hint of fruity aroma. The flavor has the flavor of grapefruit rind, bitter and tart. OK. <<Rerated 6/6/2007>> This time it pours with a big solid head. Still light and still. All of the above rating still stands ... quite, quite fruity, with a bitter puckering grapefruity head. Not grapefruity with a big malt undertow like some big NW IPAs, this is literally like grapefruit juice. Drink it for breakfast. Slightly elevated rating overall.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2007 At the brewery in June 2003 for my initial rating, but more than a few bottles subsequently. Perfectly clear, filtered yellow orange hue beneath a large-bubbled white head. Very mild hop nose: with more of a doughy angel food cake scent than anything else. The hops are piney, sharp and one-dimensional. Old bottles tend to give off a corn and fuesal aroma. Fresh bottles are almost like sniffing a fresh cut piece of pine board at the lumberyard. Old bottles taste stale, papery, dry, and then hits you with an empty bitterness in the finish. Fresh bottles are sweet up front, giving way to a fairly even bitterness - with a chewy and sugary hop resin, and overall very light but tasty. I just wish I knew what hops were used. Fresh it gets a 3.6, old bottles get a 3.2.
