3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle) Sampled at Maxfields in Potsdam, NY. Hardly an IPA nose. More of the Hi-C flavour than I first encountered with the aroma. A fairly bitter finish. Good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled at Maxfields, Potsdam NY. Light hops and malts in a hazy golden ale. Fresh malt and intense citrusy hops, lingering in the mouth, but not resinous as would be expected in the C-hops. A littrle overbearing. Medium bodied.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hoppy citrus aroma, along with some floral notes. Light orange with thin head. Decent hop flavour and a decent bitterness to the lingering finish. Not great, but enjoyably drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is hoppy but in a rather restrained way by todays IPA standards. Some citrus and caramel in the nose. Pours cloudy light orange with a very well retained off white head. The flavor is hoppy with some malt balance, but again there is just not a big enough hop bite to make this an IPA winner. Call me spoiled, but pass the AleSmith.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Unexpectedly smoother than it brown ale counterpart. Not as hoppy as I anticipated. Outdoorsy aroma, citrus undertones int he taste. Not so bad.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slightly hazy straw-colored body, thin clumping off-white head. Citrus and pine hops aroma with some caramel. Nice fresh piney and earthy hops flavor with touches of citrus rind. Enough sweet caramely malts and biscuit to balance the fresh hops. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Not too shabby.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, different label from that pictured, and I believe it stated 6.5% abv. Hazy golden orange colour with a frothy off-white head. Green, fresh, leafy, grapefruit, and pine aroma, with caramel notes. Pine and citrus bitter flavours lingering though the finish, with some caramel sweetness to back it up. Medium bodied, refreshing.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2005 Poured lazy with little head. Weak muted aroma of malts. Tasted like a below par Pale Ale so the IPA thing really threw me. Wouldn’t recommend this to an enemy.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pours a slightly hazy golden, small white frothy head, so-so lacing, with subtle carbonation.   Mild hop aroma.   Hop & grapefruit on the tongue.   Slight graininess.   Good body, medium mouthfeel.   Finishes with a light bitterness, some ashtray, and grains.   Boring for an IPA.   So far, all the Acme brews have been somewhat boring.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy gold under a huge off white head.
Nice floral hop aroma accompanied by a rich yeastyness.
Bitter from the start to the finish but having enough malt present to keep this in between the lines. Nicely bitter IPA won’t please everyone however.
