COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Acme IPA is profoundly hoppy, finished with over a pound of fresh whole hops per barrel. The result of this generous hopping is a beer that is deliciously dry, and eminently drinkable in spite of its apparent strength.

Pale orange, medium head. Delicate carbonation. There is an overwhelming sweet, metaly aroma that bothers me. Definite hay especially in the taste; quite bitter. Tastes like a damn horse barn.

Not much of an aroma - but the flavor is quite bold - with just the right amount of hoppiness and grapefruit hints. Decent size head with a little bit of lace - nice light orange color. All in all a good IPA - which is fast becoming one of my favorite styles.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2005 hoppy aroma but not that grassy/floral type that I love so much in an IPA, Huge head on a nice golden color..I do not really like the hops used in this beer, Not like my favorite IPA’s, hoppy flavor is a bit grapefruity & bitter and lacking that Pizazzzzzzzz I do so enjoy..Not a bad beer, but not a great example of the style

Very hoppy aroma, taste and feel. Hop flavor masks the high alcohol content very well.

Really nice mouth feel, great hop nose. A good California IPA.

Aroma of citric hops, fruit and a certain spice whose name escapes me. Friendly, sweet fruity malt enlivened by citric hop flavors and a long tingly hop finish. An easy-going IPA.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2005 It pours with a fairly good head. Aroma is corn syrup and grass clipping(cascades?). Good bite, slightly sweet, but mostly bitterness. Decent, but not exceptional IPA.

Medium gold color, medium head. A medium bodied IPA. Crisp and hoppy and slightly bitter. Typical of an IPA. Nice malt flavor. Malt sweetness is overbalanced by hop bitterness. Yet, the hoppyness is very fairly mild, not too bitter. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is bitter. Very nice IPA.

PsychProf hits it on the head that this is a slightly "rough around the edges" IPA. Bitter, for sure, but there should be some effort at complexity. Rumor has it that Acme is North Coast’s budget beer line. If so, the ratings for Acme will, over time, reflect that vis a vis North Coast ales.

Nice copper color, lemony nose, hoppy taste. Bitter aftertaste. Decent beer, but nothing special.
