COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Acme IPA is profoundly hoppy, finished with over a pound of fresh whole hops per barrel. The result of this generous hopping is a beer that is deliciously dry, and eminently drinkable in spite of its apparent strength.
2012 vintage: 6.9% abv

Musty clouded peachy yellow color, steady bubbles within, a very appetizing appearance to it, with a fine off-white medium sized froth that sits a good while before settling to a solid skim. Lacing sticks in some ink blobby sheeting. Aroma is of a nice hop medley of woody, citrus mint, sweetly resinous with a nice pale malt of stale crisp bread. Flavors are good in both the hop profile and malt backing, hops are slightly popping with a good zip of citrus, but maintains a mild front, more eager as it rides through to the finish where it gets a nice complex woody hop and bitterness clinging onto a very crisp pale malting. It takes awhile for the finish to render its full potential, but if your patient it makes a very welcome bite and squeeze of hops. Nice left over citrus pith and sourness brings an almost ghostly finish very late. Nice, quite nice. If it weren’t for a mediocre start this would get a better number in the taste dept, but where it lacks in the front well makes up for it in the finish. Feel is just right for an IPA, frothy yet slick and calming with a creamy front, gains an excellent hopping in the finish of bittering bite and dryness all maintained in a well balanced nearly full body. Well balanced throughout with a slight sweet front, malt stays firm yet crispy adding a grainier build towards the finish where the hops get fun and helps add a nice bite late. This was gone in no time. Super drinkable and an outstandingly handled IPA. The west coast, or in this case, North Coast, has a yummy little drinker here. Solid offering!

On tap at Bitter on W Hastings. Served in 5 oz wine glass. Lots of head. Orangey amber color. Hops are noticeable, but this is not a super-hopped IPA. It’s a more traditional well balanced ale. Nice, but very bland compared to the Red Racer hop loaded ale before it.

Pours a clear dark amber with a white head. Aroma is apricot. Taste us apricot and some pine. Creamy texture. Pretty good.

This was not a "profoundly" hoppy IPA, not by any means. Still it was a nice IPA. The nose was full with citrus and honey. The taste fairly bitter, but nothing biting or extreme. This was your basic, no frills, IPA.

Clear dark golden amber with a persistent head and horizontal bands of lace. California IPA must mean mild because that’s what this is. Hard to taste 6.9%abv, taste is caramel malt, but it gives way immediately to light pine hops. The hops continue until a fade at the finish. No big deal, no problem. Youi’ll have to decide for yourself.

first of all I?m rating this from a bottle so I?ll be back to perform a proper rating later.Flavor of light to moderate pine, fresh and herbal with a delicious bitterness. I don?t know why this is rating in the 70th percentile... It?s quite delish. Nothing extraordinary... Actually, it’s a fine example and a really easy drink without giving up quality (or going overboard).

Blommor och russin i aromen. Trevlig kombination. I smaken hittas grape, banan, melon och mycket beska. Extra plus till den snygga etiketten.

On tap at Firefly, served a bit cold in a shaker pint. Pours a deep copper with a thinnish white head that sticks around for a bit. Smells of pine and earth with a bit of a biscuit and caramel backbone. Taste is what you would expect from the nose. Bready and caramel up front with enough earth and pine to remind you there are hops in there. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. Decent IPA, nothing exception here, but nothing objectionable either.

12 oz. bottle from a shaker. Pours a clear light yellow amber color with a pretty, tall white head. Aroma has some mild hop notes and some simple malt. Taste is a peppery hoppy mess up front with some notes of lagerish hops in the middle. Finish has a hint of citrus but is again astringent and peppery. This one isn’t too good for a craft IPA.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a small frothy white head. The aroma is a bready malt and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet hop flavor and light bitter finish. Easy to drink, a good IPA from North Coast.
