Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

Pours crisp amber with gold around the edges, 1 finger creamy beige head, and agressive carbontion bubbles are apparent. Aroma is carmel malt, light citrus hops, flora hops and a slightly earthy backbone. Flavor is grapefruit, caramel, bicuity malt, and a nice fruity crisp melon note. FInish is slightly bitter with an unsweetened pink grapefruit tang at the end. While all of this is well and good, the problem is the beer is just too damn weak, it really tastes like 50% really good pale ale and 50% tonic water. Probably would be great to stock at a summer BBQ or camping trip.

Good hoppy character but like their IPA, a metallic aftertaste. Better choices out there in this catagory.

How many times can you type caramel malt and citrus hops? One more I guess! A pretty standard middle of the road APA. Not bad, nothing great.

Bottle. Amber beer with a nice off-white head. Dusty citrus aroma with some malt backing. Grapefruit flavor with some dusty malt. Medium bodied. Grapefruit lingers with some dusty malt.

12oz bottle. Light orange/amber with a lasting white head. Citrus, caramel and dust aroma. Light malt sweetness with some caramel and toffee, and a lemon citric bitterness in the finish. A bit light on the palate, with a really soft carbonation. Alright, but not one of the better ones available around here.
