ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

Draft at Toad in the Hole. Pale amber with a slight haze and low diminishing foam. Cushy aromas of warm grains and fruitcake. Taste of apple and caramel precedes a lively minerality. Finish leaves a slight coagulant feel common to session beers fermented with a particular American Ale yeast thatís ridiculously popular.

White head on amber yellow body. Aroma is sweet citrus. Flavour tends to the malt side with a speedy lightly bitter finish. Acme, the choice of coyotes everywhere.

Poured no head on a clear amber colored body. The aroma is wet grain with some fruitiness. The taste is lemon bitterness with some pear sweetness. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. Nothing special but good enough for a couple rounds.

A perfectly serviceable pale ale. Not the best, but I would drink this again, no problem. Typical malty/bready flavor with spicy hop finish.

Pours copper with a white head. Hops aroma with bitter/sweet notes. The taste follows the aroma and is bitter/sweet. It is medium in body with a sticky, bitter finish. Itís a decent IPA, but itís nothing special

Bottle - Amazed at the low ratings on this one--North Coast has always been good to me. When I crack it, I know why. This one is golden and slightly hazy, with a thin foamy white head. Nose is light and fruity, with pear and tropical fruit syrup. Not much hopping to speak of. Taste has an odd savory aspect to it that transitions into dry, mineral and pale malt. A touch of herbal hops, honey, and more pear on the finish. Thin and overcarbonated.

Yellow color, white head. Stale hops, crackery malts, not a whole lot going on.

Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy orange with a large, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is stale earthy and citrus hops with a faint butyric component, biscuit malt, and light peach/pear fruity esters. Flavor is fruity esters, light hops and bitterness, light malt and a hint of oxidation with a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation.

12oz bottle - pours an opaque deep gold with white head. Nose is hay/straw or straw/hay. Flavor adds grass and citrus with a small malty backbone. Watery but flavorful. Moderately bitter. Refreshing. I know understand the low ratings.

Light caramel, herbal, citrus aroma and flavor, with some sweet and bread crust malt flavors.
