2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle to shaker.
Appearance: Light gold, decent white head, clear.
Aroma: Faint. Some citrus. Otherwise leaves almost no impression on me Ė I donít have a cold, do I?
Flavor: So faint itís really hard for me to tell. I get some grain and a mildly hop-bitter finish.
Palate: Light/thin body, medium carbonation. Dry finish.
Overall: Iím having a hard time with this. On the one hand I think this beer achieves what it purports to (it is indeed smooth, clean, and sessionable as the commercial description claims), and I could see times where this would be exactly the right beer for the moment. On the other hand those are moments when I donít particularly want to think about, taste, savor, or enjoy the beverage Ė those times where I want to go to a pub with friends and order a few pints of something that is cool, drinkable, utterly unobtrusive and forgettable, when I would be just as happy ordering water if water contained alcohol. And itís hard to give an overall impression of a beer that seems best suited to make no impression at all.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
BOTTLE. Hazy orange pour with little head. Sweet caramel & honey on the nose. Toffee & caramel at front end with orange & malt at the back end, watery for a pale ale.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
355ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with small, frothy, diminishing, white head. Biscuity, malty aroma with cautious honey touch, vegy, yeasty overtones, some orange zest. Taste is minimally sweet fruity, hints of orange and mandarine, light body, slightly watery. Loveless, anaemic, refutes any positive prejudice about California (concerning beer, of course, not e.g. the weather).

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From bottle. Pours a honey-color, a bit hazy with a pretty good-sized head that dissipates and leaves just a bit of lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty and faintly citrus. Taste is also malty, citrus, slight bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Light bitter finish.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pure malt garbage. No hoppy flavor and is just a terrible tasting beer. Pours light orange in color. Smells malty. Had at Carolina ale house on Charlotte.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
The aroma is light citrus, tangerines and a hint of fresh leaves. The taste is classic American Pale Ale, but maybe a bit on the lower side of everything? A little biscuity, slightly toasted malts with mild pine and vague lemon peels. A pretty dry aftertaste. Itís refreshing, but not the coolest one around.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. StarmoreBoss, Sheffield. Clear gold. Thick, lasting, white head. Pale, lager malt aroma. A little fruit salad. Taste is light sweet. Hint of bitter. Clean, fresh palate. Finishes a little dry. Sweet close. Not the tastiest beer, but quite refreshing, and easy drinking.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
"a tiny bit better than others in the acme line, but still a slightly below average pale ale. not enough balance in the beer, the hops are ok, but they have no other presence to play off of."
