COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of hops, malts, and light diacetyl. Poured amber/copper in color. Slightly hazy. Not sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, hops, and a hint of fruit (from the hops I assume). Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hop and malt finish. Better than I had expected. Very average but very drinkable nonetheless. I am surprised this beer has such low ratings.

An average pale ale. Nice little orange / copper pour with mild notes of caramel malts, hop, and citrus. A little thin and lacking in imagination, but ok.

Aroma has a sour malty scent with a little note of hops. Pours a hazy orange with descent carbonation has a nice frothy white head but diminishes very fast leaving a very nice lacing. I am getting some malty citrus and hoppines out of the taste has a citrus after taste. With a little bit of bitterness. Not bad just doesn’t do a lot for me as a pale ale.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy dark yellow with a billowy 1.5 finger head with great retention. Aroma has a belgian yeast quality to it with lots of fruity esters, especially orange and lemon. A little light bready malt as well. Taste is quite fruity and full of orange and grapefruit. Again there is that Belgian quality with the spice and fruit. Some light bread it detectable but no flavor is very strong. A light bitterness cleans everything up at the end. Overall, it is an ok pale ale but somewhat lacking in flavor. The spice and malt is different than other APA’s out there but not really enough for me to seek out again.

Light amber beer with some golden/orange highlights. Slightly hazy, effervescent bubbles, and nice white head. Aroma is very mild, there’s some fruitiness but also an unpleasant hint toward grain husk that’s foreboding. Very easy drinker here, not a ton of depth. There is some sweetness that plays nicely with the biscuity malt, also tending towards a lighter grain, while the hops make an appearance without leaving much behind.
