Cask, Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield.
This clicked very nicely. Wanted another straight away, which is always a good sign !! The elements of citrus and hops operate in unison extremely well to give an eminently glaggable golden ale.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask in Bon Accord, im guessing this was in bad shape. Grassy and cellar note in aroma. Taste is similarly oxidised and rawly bitter.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask handpull at the Rotherham Oakwood Beer Festival. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma is malt/tobacco and a little earthy. Flavors are fairly hop-dominated, so fairly bitter, earthy, fruity, grassy/vegetal.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask gravity at Kent BF, Canterbury. Gold/copper with lasting white head. I rather like this, nice malt/hop balance, decent hop on end. Really enormously drinkable.

Gravicask at Kent Beer Festival. Golden brown colour. Hoppy tobacco nose. Bitter hop flavour with a dusty and dry finish. *yawns*

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2009 Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel Northampton. A golden coloured beer with a loose white head and some lacing. The aroma is malty and a bit biscuity. The taste is malty and nutty. There is some citricity, but also a tiny amount of diacetyl. Quite ordinary for Acorn, which is an excellent brewery.Score 3.3
Subsequent rating scored 3.1. Average becomes 3.2

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gravity, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Copper, small but sticky scum of soapy white. Soft farmy buttery hops, pear and blackberry esters. Fresh minty hop flavor, soft bell-toned malt, a touch of lingering bitterness. There is nothing aggressive or bombastic about this beer, but it is such a good example of all the subtle charm of a proper British beer, brewed carefully, served well. All components working together, just like they have been doing it for centuries. (And of course they have...)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask (gravity) Derby Summer BF 2006. Sampled on the last day, going cheap, amazed that I hadn’t rated this yet. Clean golden body, gentle citric nose, short lemon notes to a dry finish.
