Dryish resiny papery aftertaste with spicy fruity wooden notes. Nice, vivid, drinkable. (0.5l bottle, from Clarke’s, Whitby.)

Pale, but golden colour; pours with a light head with large bubbles that dissipate quickly. Don’t be fooled by this: it has not got the consistency of dishwater - it has an effervescence which is refreshing and light. Taste is clean and well defined, but not unusual for this type of ale.
