Pint at the Old Manor in Bracknell. Golden brown with a settled head. The taste is bitter and slightly sour, which wasn’t what I was expecting. The aroma is dry and boring. This doesn’t taste much like other IPAs I’ve sampled. To be honest I didn’t get on with this beer, it was too bitter and boring.

Rune (4922) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 26, 2011
Half, cask at Angel (JDW). Partly hazy, golden body. Film-type layer, lace rings to the glassware. Fresh smell of orange-like hops. Resinous bitter taste profile, hints of toasted malts. Smooth and lingering finish. Medium bodied. Not more than a standard IPA, but a satisfying partner with the food (London, 20.03.2011).

Hand pulled cask at the Moon and Sixpence (JDW) Hatch End. Amber/gold with a thick creamy unsparkled white collar - in perfect condition. Good body with plenty of the signature hop thrown in. I’m not a massive fan of challenger but I really enjoyed this.

[Cask at Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Light amber, moderate lasting white head, slight fizz. Earth and straw bitterness parts to reveal an orangey sweetness behind. OK, but failed to wow me.

downender (4380) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 23, 2011
Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 22/02/2011. Deep amber in colour with a frothy off-white head. Grassy hop aroma with some orange fruit and sweetness. Flavour was buttery, which took the edge off some citrus fruit and dryish finish. Disappointing beer from Acorn.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Gold with a long lasting, loose white head; dusty hop aroma; sweet malty flavour with a touch of lemon; and a sharp, cutting, bitter finish. Very drinkable.

harrisoni (10067) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 21, 2011
Cask handpull at Society Rooms JDW Maidstone. Clear gold colour with very lasting white head. Its ok. Not sure this is quite right. Conditon is really good. Some fart yeast hop and butter on aroma. Sorry this has cheesy diacetyl on aroma that spoils this pint for me. Just too buttery for other flavours to come through.

Leighton (4087) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2011 Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Pours a mostly clear gold with a slight, white head. Hoppy, straw nose with some toast and caramel. Light sweet flavor with some crackers, flowery bitters and hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lasting bitter finish, some orange juice and bready malts, too. Very nice.

DruncanVeasey (5136) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2010
The Larry, (Lloyds/JDW) Nuneaton. Honey amber, creamy nitro top. Lemon barley, soft mineral aroma. Full mouthfeel, soft and soapy lemon; crushed rich tea, dough, hay, gulp of shampoo on finish. Salty, a bit astringent. Egg custard linger. OK.
