Cask, Out of the Vaults Leicester Crawl Jan 2005. Chestnut, low off white head and gentle condition. Gentle toffee sweetness in the nose, balanced caramel and solid hoppiness in the mouth and a predominantly hop bitter finish.

Cask Handpump at the Crescent, Salford 26/03/2004 Amber coloured bitter with some alcohol content. Sour fruits and slight bitteness in a finish which lasts.

Hand pulled at Out of the Vaults, Leicester (during RB Leicester crawl). Nice roasty Bitter, from a brewery which I’m increasingly impressed with. Hops on parade, with a rich, tasty finish and mouthfeel. Some nice freshness in the hops and dryness too. Actually very fresh and neatly heeled.

A dark red beer with a rather autumnal feel to it. Dry malt dominates. There’s a touch of nuttiness in the flavour and maybe a hint of hop presence in the aroma, but not enough to get the juices flowing. Solid, but lacking in impact. Cask (handpump), Out of the vaults, Leicester.

Cask conditioned at Out of the Vaults, Leicester, (RB Crawl). Dark brown beer with soapy head. Dry malty beer with a little background fleshy fruit, but largely unimaginative. Cooked vegetable finish, very few high notes.
