maeib (3917), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Oct 13, 2006 Cask conditioned - handpump - Out Of The Vaults = Leicester. A black coloured stout with a small tan coloured head. The aroma has coffee and good roasted character. The taste is dry and roasty. Strong flavours and a long finish. Weak in ABV for an Imperial Stout but probably carries it off quite well. Another good beer from this highly recommended brewery.

Roasted , malty nose with loads of coffee and dark chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with notes of dark fruit, coffee, cocoa and a long, roasted, bitter finish. Powerful stout, full body, balanced sweetness. Excellent beer. DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England Jun 20, 2007 Cask, The Crown (formerly Lloyd’s), Nuneaton. Virtually pitch, with ruby tints and a tan head. Can just about see the sun through it. Earthy, charcoal-smeared nose. Mouth-fillingly roasty with lots of charred malt and bitter chocolate. Big alcohol presence, with some distinctly barrelly notes. Either a very smoky and full bodied stout or a watery imp.
