Gravity cask at the Mallard Winter Beer Festival 2008. Pours a dark reddish-brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, slight hops, slight fruit. Flavors are strong grainy sweet malt, roasty, slight hops, slight fruity yeast. Little watery.

Cask (gravity filled jug) @ Smithfield Hotel & Bar, Manchester M4, UK. Clear medium brown color with a small, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light to moderate hoppy, notes of licorice / tobacco. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (180108)

Cask at the Smithfield, Manchester Poured a very dark brown colour, quite dryish, malts show through quite well, really quite a tasty beer.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Smithfield Hotel.
Dark dark brown with a good beige head. Sweet malty aroma with some creamy vanilla and slight tobacco. Dark malt flavour with some hops and a faint apply note. Reasonable stuff but not enough character.
