Gravity cask at the Mallard Winter Beer Festival 2008. Pours a dark reddish-brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, slight hops, slight fruit. Flavors are strong grainy sweet malt, roasty, slight hops, slight fruity yeast. Little watery.

Feb 7, 2008 Cask (gravity filled jug) @ Smithfield Hotel & Bar, Manchester M4, UK. Clear medium brown color with a small, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light to moderate hoppy, notes of licorice / tobacco. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (180108)

Jan 28, 2008 Cask at the Smithfield, Manchester Poured a very dark brown colour, quite dryish, malts show through quite well, really quite a tasty beer.

Dark dark brown with a good beige head. Sweet malty aroma with some creamy vanilla and slight tobacco. Dark malt flavour with some hops and a faint apply note. Reasonable stuff but not enough character.
