cask at cloisters ... copper ... soft light black currant fruit hop ... bitter fruit hop ... very blah ... light tofffeee ... dry bittter linger

Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 10-05-10 Classic mid-amber colour with a slim white head. Some sweetness initially but this is soon slapped down by a heavy bitterness. Citric and syrupy flavour’s combine but its the bitterness that is the real noticeable thing about this beer it simply hangs about for ages. Enjoyed this but a half was enough. I gave this a 3.7 when having it in the pub but having left the pub and thought about it in the drive home I realised as pleasant as it was I didn’t like it that much, so it got knocked down a couple of notches.
