3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask - Planet Thanet Beer Festival ’09. Dark but clear brown colour with a diminishing but bubbly beige head. Predominant aromas of burnt notes, dark chocolate, light coffee tones and roasted malts. Coffee and roasted malts again in the flavour with some liquorice undertones. Thick and velvety mouthfeel. A hearty, well rounded porter.

Cask at Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield. Dark, almost black pour with a reddish hue. Big frothy tan head. Nutty aroma with a smooth malty liqourice taste. Little bitterness and nothing on the palate, just pure smoothness all the way.

A crisp and easy to drink porter, but certainly not a distinctive ale in character.
