Gravity cask at the Merton BF 2012. Amber/gold with a white head. Exceptionally drinkable beer with clean subtly sweet malts and a zesty bitterness that tastes more complex than single hop recipes normally tend to. One of many exceptionally well chosen and presented beers at this excellent little festival.

Cask in the Babington Arms, Derby. Amber with a good creamy white head. I found this pretty bland and watery. A touch of citrus on the finish, but little else to report.

Cask, Slug & Lettuce, Leicester. Golden with a light foam. Aromas are cereal and biscuit malts with nutty aspects. Melon, lemon and cream with kiwi. Flavours are dry biscuit with some sugary sweetness. Melon and mellow gooseberry with woody, nutty and grassy notes. Peppery and slightly herbal on the finish. Some underlying caramel sweetness. Good.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival, 17th & 18th February 2012 Dark gold with a nice medium white head. Crisp refreshing fruity beer with these hops shining from the off (lovely beer) Good rush of citrus and a wonderful juiciness throughout, bitterness is quite pushy but propels this beer along well. Loved this beer and was my favourite of the weekend. A7 A5 T9 P4 Ov16 4.1

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Amber with white head. Sharp, fresh beer with a dry, leafy hop flavour, quite bitter in character. Fully flavoured with a deepish malty body. Really very pleasant.
