The color is bronze and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma has notes of flower, malt, bread and caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet with notes of bread, flower, light candy-sugar and the finish is dry - nice!

(swing top bottle) Hazy, deep golden to amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white frothy head. Slightly yeasty caramel-malty aroma with nutty and fruity (apricots, citrus) accents and herbal and slightly flowery hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a smooth and well-matured carbonation. Cara-malty and subtle fruity taste with a nutty touch; medium-dry, mildly sweet malty and delicately hop bitter finish. Balanced and quaffable Ur-Helles. 27.X.10

Bügelverschlußflasche: Hazy, amber coloured, mid-sized fluffy off-white head; solid sweet toasty-caramelly nose with a light, but distinctive hoppy background; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, soft and nearly medium bodied; short caramelly-hoppy finish. Unusual, but good, old fashioned Helles.....

bottle, bought at the brewery. Unfiltered, therefore slightly hazy. Dark golden colour, nearly amber, large and beautifully creamy head, which is extremely long-lasting. Malty nose. Malty flavours, hints of roasted malt (hence the amber colour). Hoppy background, but not bitter. Also hints of caramel. Lovelly stuff.
