Draught Keg - Blackfriars Inn Blackfriars London. (RB London Xmas Crawl 2004). A nasty hazy sicky green coloured cider qith a sweet fizzy aroma. The taste is sweet and a bit French. Acceptable but lacks character and depth

Cloudy yellow color, no head. Aroma of oak wood, apple. Taste is of sour apple, bit tart like a gueuze, nicely balanced. Sour palate.

I (only) had a pint of this in some pub in London. I must this one surprised me. The ciders i’ve had so far were quite crappy, but this one restored my faith in the style (and perhaps unjust, as it’s the only good cider i’ve had to date). Cloudy yellow/orange coloured, absolutely no head. The aroma is a bit faint, difficult to detect any outspoken aromas. The flavour however is very outspoken, fruity with a sour and even a bit tart edge to it, a bit like a gueuze but sweeter, like a faro. Extra points overall because it’s one of the best of its style (imho of course).
