Handpump - White Horse Oxford. A hazy urine coloured cider. The aroma is apples and chemicals. The taste is sweet and apply. Quite refreshing actually.

I can only assume that this is the bottled form of the draught stuff that i sell in the pub, though they are the same % and taste the same and when iv asked admins about it, iv had no reply. Lightly sparkling, cloudier in a whiter kind of muddtness than the more yellow looking draught stuff. Aroma is tarts, sulphur, yeast. Taste is similar, quite drinkable if unexciting.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAY 21, 2009 As its name would suggest, itís a cloudy yellow colour with minimal carbonation and no head. Subdued, yet sweet apple aromas. The flavour is light and quite... well... appley with medium acidity. Smooth and dryish finish. Goes down well.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy yellow with a very lively body (carbonation streaming up). Lovely semi-dry apple, mildly tart, with an attractive woody note. Finishes with a hint of champagne. Fizzy, sticky finish. It isnít a great UK cider, but it far trumps most or all American cider. (on tap, Babbity Bowser, Glasgow)

A Mes rate:
Cask up the Junction. Cloudy yellow looks. Nose is eggy and sweet. Artificial sugary flavour. Almost no apple to detect. Palate is poor. In fact itís just poor all round.

On tap at the Albion N1. Iím not normally a cider drinker, so this rate might reflect my ignorance. The drink was (unsurprisingly) cloudy orange in the glass, no head, and no carbonation bubbles. Flat as a mill pond. It didnít really have an aroma, a mild musty apple smell but that was all. I want a cider to explode apples into my mouth; this one leeched a musty taste of stale apple juice. Not disgusting, but not what you want out of a cider. Easy to drink though, I wasnít aware that it was 5%, but that isnít enough to make me go back to it. Over all its not offensive, but not really worth bothering with.

Bottle. Cloudy orange. Aromas are apple juice with hints of caramel and wood. Dry and processed. Flavours are sweet and lightly zesty apple. Dry and sour on the finish. Tastes too artificial for my liking.
