COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Del was one of those mischievous 1970s men who liked to push social conventions. Del’s college years were intertwined with a whirlwind of girls, parties, road trips and occasional studies. Tripel B is spicy and complex with ester/clove aromas, a light straw color and moderate carbonation. Pair with rich creamy foods like roasts, lobster and cream brulee.

Aroma is very, very subtle. Small amount if honey in the background. Appearance is very good, nice yellow/gold. Taste: too sweet for a triple. A good bit of funk in the taste as well. Palate: medium to light. Not much carbonation at all. Overall: a valiant attempt but needs a good amount of work.

750 ml. corked and caged bottle. Bottled 11/29/12. Batch 005 bottles1032. Pours a thick well retained white head, with some lacing, over a slightly hazy, light gold (SRM 5) body....nose is light pear, apple, citrus tones, hints of allspice,,,,,taste is light sweetness, with light pear, apple tones, lemon/orange flavors, leading to hints of spice, finishing with a lightly sweet bitterness, with pepper hints.....mouth feel light, alcohol warmth present, carbonation adds slight acid. This falls within the style of either a Belgian Golden Strong, or a Tripel. It is somewhat light in complexity in both aroma and flavor, and is too sweet for a Tripel. A change of yeast, higher and longer fermentation might lead to more esters and greater attenuation. BJCP 7/3/13/4/7

Pale, cloudy bold yellow in color with a bright white head, this beer has a slightly lemony, somewhat malty-sweet aroma that’s yeasty, but not nauseating. In the mouth, it’s light, soft, very tame and lemony. Nice... Light, well-flavored and very easy.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orangey gold color with effectively no head on it. Taste is a bit spicy and light with some citrus elements. Relatively unremarkable beer to me, on the whole.

Beerenberger (791) - Fischer, Texas, USA - MAR 21, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2013 Aroma of spice, citrus, and Belgian yeast. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a rapidly dissipating white head and a little lacing at the edge of the ring. The taste is similar to the nose. Belgian yeast, cloves, and a strong barnyard presence. The finish is grainy with a quick bitterish aftertaste. Medium-light body with fizzy carbonation. Overall, a drinkable beer but not my first choice for a Tripel.

Fruity sour yeast aroma. Pours a cloudy mango yellow. Taste of armpit and cat pee (and not in a good way) with a horribly bitter (like an aspirin) finish. What the hell, Adelbert’s?

2012 bottle to flight glass pours like a witbier. Hazy straw colored pour with a short lived white head. Candi sugar and fruity yeast aroma. Taste is lighter than expected but the finish is definitely Belgian tripel. Pretty dry for the style. Yeasty finish is nice. Not great but enjoyable.

25-JAN-2012, bottle @Papsø tasting, @Yespr. Clear, pale golden with low off-white head. Weak aroma of caramel malt and ripe fruit. Taste is sweet, malt, and fruit. Low carbonation, fine rich body, and alcohol. Uninteresting.
