Clear light amber color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, old vintage malt, bready. Flavor is light sweet with a short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. (020808) Magicdave6 (4092), London, Greater London, England Sep 12, 2008 Bottle at chris o’s ah nothing like two large messures of laphroig to get the palate refreshed tasting. Very malt, bready and nutty character, its defo past it, yet not sherry oxidised or that. I had this as 3% which impressed me. MesandSim (4623), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 13, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Pre GBBF Tasting
Gold with a tiny sliver of white head. Heavily oxidised, what hops there were (and I suspect not much) have been replaced by caramel with all the malt coming through to the front. Sickly, pukey, very bad. oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Aug 7, 2008 Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is oxidized malts and some yeastyness. Flavour is quite similar, malty, hoppy and quite rubbery notes.
