Black bears can weigh 600lbs, sprint over 25mph and climb like a squirrel. They have terrible eyesight, yet can smell you 20 miles away especially if your packing fruity gorp and apples. Hey, to a bear, you’re just like a 180lb fruit bowl coming down the trail! Bear Naked Ale is an all natural medium-bodied amber ale with a brilliant copper hue. Top fermenting ale yeast and a high proportion of imported Munich malt create a clean and crisp beer with a toasty, fruity backbone. Don’t get caught with your pants down, drink responsibly.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear gold with a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma had a light grassy hop note with a nice bread a hay that made the aroma. Flavor was very similar with a malty heart and just a bit of underlying grass in the finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a thin-moderate linen white head that barely made it to the second sip and left very little lace. Mild aroma of malt along with a few notes of orange. The flavor is mostly malt with just a hint of caramel. Mild-moderate hops bitterness at the finish. Middle-of-the road.

A - Pours a clear amber-orange color with a a finger of white frothy head. The head fades fairly quickly to a ring, but laces okay. S - Aroma is full of cirrus hops and some sweet fruity aromas. There is also a touch of sweet lightly roasted carmel malts in the background that breaks through. T - Starts off with some fruit esters and orange peel flavor. Lots of fruit elements here. Through the middle the malt comes through alongside some hop bitterness. The finish has some nice sweet fruit flavors and more of the hop bitterness that linger nicely. M - Medium to medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very nice and all around crisp beer. Lively on the tongue and very clean finish. D - Extremely drinkable. The flavor is fairly sweet, but it stays balanced throughout. Feels very nice and crisp and very refreshing.

Growler. Pours clear coppery orange with a small creamy beige head that leaves a trail of blebby lacing. Aromas of fruity, slightly bready malt, caramel, and a little bit of pine. The flavor is spicy pine, a little dough, and slightly sweet caramel/berry. Very drinkable and smooth, with moderate carbonation. A solid beer; this growler didn’t last long.
