(Rating #1204)

Bottle from Half Time. Pours very dark brown with a 3 finger creamy beige/tan head. Aroma is a bit dank with some underlying chocolate. Med minus body. It seems a little towards sour. There’s chocolate, maybe even a hint of vanilla. Drinkable, but not all that pleasant. Does finish on the dry side.

12 oz bottle from Oliver’s - Black with a light tan head. Floral hops and roasted malt aroma. Very pleasant. Has a nice bitter flavor crossed with the roasted grain. This beer is very good. Also, should probably be classified as a black IPA, not a regular one.

12 oz. bottle. I’ll agree with the previous raters, this must be out of retirement as I picked this up in Albany at Oliver’s and there were plenty on the shelf. Pours a lightly hazed reddish brown with clear edges and a moderate tan head that lasted through the first two sips and left light lace. Pleasant aroma of lightly roasted malt, chocolate, and citrus. The flavor follows the aroma fairly closely with the addition of a bit of caramel. Moderate bitterness at the finish. No problems.

Hope I have the right beer here. This is advertised as a black IPA, but doesn’t actually resemble one. The aroma is burnt caramel, chocolate, citrus. The appearance is very dark amber/brown, white head. The flavor is nice, sweet chocolate, burnt caramel, citrus, peach. The finish is resin, pine, little citrus. Medium in body. Pretty good.

Bottle. This one must be out of retirement, since I just bought a bottle 2 days ago. Pours hazy reddish brown with a 3-finger creamy light beige head. Aromas of roasty cocoa, chocolate, and some earthy notes. Bitter earthy malt flavor upfront, with citrusy bitterness. Good. [957]

On Tap at Brewery: Darker orange color with head of cream. Aroma is bittering hops. The flavor is the same with tons of bittering hops - actually too much and nothing to balance it out. This baby didn’t have any real malt presence, no fruitiness, no citrus. All tongue-scraping bitter hops. Not what I’m looking for in an IPA.
