0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 Glouglouburp (5562) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 24, 2006
Supposed to be the best the pub has to offer. We probably were badlucky because this one was so bad that it became a running gag between the four of us. Indescribable taste. Infected. Draft at brewpub. Lake George is famous for its Water Amusement Park but I didn’t think they would use the soiled water from the children’s pool to brew beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Slinger (91) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JUN 25, 2006
On tap at brew pub- Their best beer on tap the day I was there. Pours a dark reddish-purple with a small tan head. Pretty sweet with tastes of alcohol present. Finishes slightly sour. Better than I expected.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DYCSoccer17 (3012) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 6, 2005
On tap at the brewpub with a 4-5oz sampler. Funky, off-cheesy aroma. Mildly sweet choco-maltiness is present after the cheesy nose. A small amount of hops also come through in the nose. Transparent amber color with a light tan head. Could and should be a bit darker in color. Mmmm...sweet, caramelly, and a bit peat-like. More sweet syrupy notes to finish. This is a tad cloying, but still relatively tasty. Alcohol hidden pretty well.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 kozzak1 (70) - Florida, USA - SEP 25, 2004
Tatsy ale with a small head. Dark color & nice aftertaste. Seems to be a good brew with foods as well as alone. Good choice for a nice ale.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CapFlu (4010) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 3, 2004
(Druahgt) Pours a thin, beige head with a mahogany body. Nose of sweet caramel, brown sugar and light scotch. Oily, warm and inviting. Mild, smooth caramel with scotch flavour. A real throat tickler! Yummy!
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 tiggmtl (4516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 2, 2004
A touch of alcohol with some buttery dacetyl. Nitro white head on dark brown body. Buttery diacetyl also apparent in the big malty flavour with only a hint of the alcohol apparent. Creamy mouthfeel and full-body. On tap at the brewpub.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 29, 2004
Butterscotch as the mainspring of this creamy nitro feel...Earthy caramel lazily covering the shy alcohol...The fear of oncoming oxidation in the back of the palate sways enjoyment astray...Still, this was by far their best offering that day...
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - APR 26, 2004
Sample at the brewpub. Dark walnut, clear, little head. Thick caramel/brown sugar nose, with some eddies of vanilla, butterscotch and whiskey swirling through. Huge malty flavor mostly duplicates the nose, with some nice herbal/earthy qualities towards the end. Far and away the best sample from this brewpub.
