50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is caramelish and light toasted, light eggy note. Sweet, toasted malty and light caramelish. Vague butterish. Sweet and caramelish finish.

Draft. An orange-amber beer with a thick creamy off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel and straw. The flavor is sweet with light notes of caramel, leading to a finish with light notes of both hops and bitterness. The mouthfeel was quite flat. Served too cold for my liking - early in the day.

(On tap) Beautiful, clear, dark amber with a nice, off-white head. Malty, lightly caramelish aroma. Medium body with pleasant, lightly caramalized malt accents - perhaps even a touch of honey? Distinct hoppy finish. Nice one. 101106

Draught at the brewpub. Clear copper colour. Small stable white head. The flavour starts off slightly sweet, turns quite bitter. Nutty, slightly sugary, but balanced by the hops.

Thanks bierkoning, Edo!
Golden, light amber color, decent white head. A honeyish malty and grainy nose. Medium-bodied. Good malty backbone. Finish and aftertaste is hoppy with hints of metal. No diacetyl in my bottle. Solid Bavarian helles-zwickel.

Heuartiger Geruch, vollmundig nach süß-röstigem Malz. Herber, angenehm hopfiger Antrunk. Hintergründig wässrig, schade angesichts der angenehmen Aromen. Merklich bitter, im Abgang noch getreidig-wässrig, spritzig, aber nicht vollmundig. 10/9/8/10//9

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2009 Brewery tap. Slight soapy, malty aroma. Full bodied, almost thick and sweet. Slight bitter finish. The emphasis is on the malt and, as the Germans call it vollmündigkeit (thickness in the mouth). Re-rate (again brewery tap) Malty aroma with a hint of rubber, malty flavor with a hint of licorice. Some late hopbitterness, especially in the aftertaste. During a visit in september 2009 the beer had a lot of diacetyl.
