3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 wheresthepath (1285) - Buckinghamshire, - NOV 14, 2012[Cask at the William Robert Looseley (JDW), High Wycombe] Amber with a small white head. Intensely hoppy from the off, although the initial taste of pine disinfectant is not the greatest start. Fortunately the detergent soon fades to reveal lot of pithy grapefruit. Some sweet caramel malt does eventually manage to fight its way through, but really this is all about the hops. So... there’s a LOT of flavour for the low ABV, but it’s rather unbalanced. Personally (controversial, I know!) I think Adnams may have done this better on theor own.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ianwelby (200) - SCOTLAND - NOV 12, 2012
Clear amber with a thin, disappating head. A balance, slightly fruity flavour but not strong enough and because of that it seems a bit unremarkable. Pleasant enough but nothing special.

From cask at the The Hengler’s Circus. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is citrusy, crisp hoppy, light peachy and grapefruit. Bitter, light toasted malty, crisp grapefruity, mild declining peachy hops into a smooth, yet dry and bitter finish.

That Spoons under the library, Brum, 10/11/12. Dark bronze with a scummy film of head. Liptons peach iced tea aroma. Hideous, simplistic peach iced tea, crystal malt-sodden tinned peach flan/ US DIPA flavour. Chemically bitttersweet. I can appreciate some people will love this but I don’t.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (6120) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 10, 2012
Pulled from cask at The Knights Templar. Festival ale shared with Finn. Clear amber coloured body, bubbly surface. Aroma of floral fruity hops. Shells of grapefruits and dried fruits in flavour. Hop fruity ending. Food friendly and refreshing. Not thin at all. Great session qualities and, in fact, one of the best of 43 sampled JDW festival real ales (London, 01.11.2012).
