Crosse Keys Spoons. Clear deep amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate, fine carbonation. Nice malt, a little caramel toffee and cream. Mildly bitter orange fruits. Semi dry finish. Really not bad at all. Well balanced and drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask conditioned handpump Masque Haunt London 19/03/13. A dark brown coloured beer with a definite red hue and a whitish head and lace. Very typically Irish malty fruity with a good whack of late bitterness. Dry and toasty. Coffee flavours. An acquired taste but true to style and well brewed.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours like a slightly lighter Guinness but left for a minute or so clears to a gorgeous chestnut red colour with a fine off white head. First taste that hits yiu is dark cherry. Lovely. It gets a bit more bitter after that with some berries and a bit of chalk. Slightly astringent in the finish, like sucking on a salty plum or cherry stone. Very nice and has awakened my tastebuds after the blandness of my last beer.

Cask @ JDW Elgin
Reddish copper, lear, dense off white head, good colour
Aroma of soft fruity caramel malts, soft sweet malts, touch of berry fruits
Taste of caramel malts, hint of toasted malts, touch of yeast, soft berry fruits, bitter English hops, fresh cask
Palate - Medium body, smooth texture. Finish as main flavour, lingering soft bitter finish, very very slight salty, digestive biscuits linger (I did try the beer again 2 days later prob same cask, the biscuits had gone in the linger and the finish was more bitter astringent)
Overall - This was a pretty decent brown bitter - however, 2 days later the beer was more bitter astringent and would score around 2.8.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark amber with cream head. A bit of a composite rating this as the first pint I had was fruity smooth then the very next was musty earthy, not sure how that could happen within 10 minutes. Malt led beer, no following hop note, but reasonable enough.
