3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On cask at Old Swan (JDW), Uttoxeter. Pours red brown with a stiff white head. Looks the part, not much going on for a red. Not unpleasant but not interesting either. Disappointing as I like red Irish ales usually.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours like a slightly lighter Guinness but left for a minute or so clears to a gorgeous chestnut red colour with a fine off white head. First taste that hits yiu is dark cherry. Lovely. It gets a bit more bitter after that with some berries and a bit of chalk. Slightly astringent in the finish, like sucking on a salty plum or cherry stone. Very nice and has awakened my tastebuds after the blandness of my last beer.
