Bottle: Spiced aroma, some corriander and carmelized sugar notes; heavy bicuitiness with a tart finish. Quite good, actually.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear, dark ruby colour with thin cream/orangey red head that lasts about 5 mins. Aroma is of malts, barley, hops and dried fruit. Nice malty, hoppy taste with raisins coming after. Really smooth.

The flavor starts out with a slightly hoppy note and a very darkly roasted grain bitterness, followed by moderate maltiness, and finishing with a hoppy bitterness. It’s a beer I really want to like, but just don’t love.

Bottled. Clear dark red-brown with a small cream-coloured head. Malt and noticeable alcohol on the nose and sweet malt and molasses flavours. Warming alcohol, a dry finish, and balancing bitterness. Very good.

Palate: Medium thick grainy texture and body, average carbonation, abrupt dried fruit, malty toffee finish. Comments: Good and lace.

A dark reddish-brown coloured beer with a thick and frothy off white head. A strong nutty malt aroma, caramel and a yeasty bready element. Full mouthfeel. A mouth-filling malt flavour. Nutty and bready, with a sweet taste of caramel and a hint of bubblegum. An alcoholic sourness comes through in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bottle. It’s a very strong flavoured beer, not for a casual session. A bit too much going on to be great.

BB 28/02/2015. Poured a semi-translucent deep mahogany with an off-white, two- to three-finger dense foam stout-like head that retained very well. Laced OK in rings. Aroma dominated by mellow tones of malt, maybe a hint of dried fruit and little else detected. Taste of soft sweetish malt with a slightly mild bitterness. Light body. Smooth, soft, light with a slightly sweet finish. Quite good (better than cask).
