Cornish_Rob (10), wadebridge, England Aug 25, 2005 i love this beer and drink a lot of it when i go up to Hastings. Nothing will ever topple Doom Bar in my heart, but this is certainly in my top 3. Totally drinkable, malty nose, light bitterness, nutty and all things nice. I even like the advertising and their staff at GBBF 2005. Top Marks. Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Apr 6, 2004 Hand pulled at the Sadlers Arms, Solihull, West Midlands. Delicious beer - all round good stuff. Rich, malty flavour: fudge, chocolate and berry. Smooth, full, refreshing and creamy. Thick, ice cream lacing, and a deep chestnut colour, with a tasty caramel aroma. V. v. good. JonMoore (1547), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Jul 11, 2004 Cask at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. A great beer. Amber brown, lively, with a smooth, clean, malt, slightly hoppy taste. hughie (2150), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 12, 2005 Updated: May 28, 2008Cask at Red Lion, Long Compton, Warwickshire. Dark amber colour with a firm, creamy head. The aroma was of malt with overtones of grassy hops. Taste is malty with some fruit. A smooth, medium-bodied pint with a slight, pleasant bitterness. Overall a top beer. 28.5.08 Cask at Green Man, Trumpington, Cambridge. rated 6,4,6,4,14:3.4. Not so impressed this time round. Gentle sweet berry fruit in aroma. Malty taste and mid bitter finish. Daredevil (77), Bern, Switzerland May 4, 2008 a bit like the 2eme or 3eme GC Bordeaux .... everything is perfectly balanced and smooth ... no rough edges no lumps and bumps ... if you are looking for a perfectly executed medium bodied fruity ale ... this might come close to your best bet ...
