Svesse (1706), Hässelby, Sweden May 5, 2007 (Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London 27 Apr 2007) Dark brown, almost mahogany, colour with brief off-white head. Malty nose with dark fruit, orange peel, hints of chocolate and notes of earthy hops. Fruity taste with a solid malt foundation, dark fruit, red berries (raspberries, cherries), hints of chocolate and a generous puff of earthy hops in the finish. A reliable pint indeed.
albertane (277), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Aug 28, 2008 Cask at the Dragon, Nottingham. This dark copper beer has a fruity aroma and a juicy malty flavour with dark fruits: plums, raisins, and a gentle bitterness. SaintMatty (485), Tallinn, Estonia Aug 20, 2008 Cask (The Castle,Basingstoke) - Copper coloured with a bit of a haze. Very fruity and rich aroma with some fruit cake hints. Fruity and slightly musty taste with raisins and some spicy malt notes. bman1986 (79), Broadstairs, Kent, England Aug 16, 2008 Cask at The Butchers Arms, Herne: Dark orangey brown beer. Strong flavours of fruit and bread with a little maltiness. Very rich and tasty. Good beer but I could only drink a couple. gary07734 (141), Tyne & Wear, England Jun 18, 2008 Red-ish brown half pint at local beer festival.
Taste is bitter, quite fruity and loads of malt. Bitter after taste. Fairly average pint nothing special. alexcandy (11), chatillon-sur-seine, France May 21, 2008 Nice strong heavy beer. Great with food and I think a very winter drink. Lots of flavor and depth to this. So much better than the bottle broadside.
