JoeMcPhee (3692), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 1, 2004 Cask. Amber-red colour with a thin creamy off-white head. Nice cherry aroma, a bit of hop resin and spice. Quite full-bodied. Flavour is also fruity and malty. A hint of woody character with a slftly bitter finish. Tasty, well-balanced brew.
albertane (268), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Aug 28, 2008 Cask at the Dragon, Nottingham. This dark copper beer has a fruity aroma and a juicy malty flavour with dark fruits: plums, raisins, and a gentle bitterness. SaintMatty (437), Tallinn, Estonia Aug 20, 2008 Cask (The Castle,Basingstoke) - Copper coloured with a bit of a haze. Very fruity and rich aroma with some fruit cake hints. Fruity and slightly musty taste with raisins and some spicy malt notes. bman1986 (73), Broadstairs, Kent, England Aug 16, 2008 Cask at The Butchers Arms, Herne: Dark orangey brown beer. Strong flavours of fruit and bread with a little maltiness. Very rich and tasty. Good beer but I could only drink a couple. gary07734 (139), Tyne & Wear, England Jun 18, 2008 Red-ish brown half pint at local beer festival.
Taste is bitter, quite fruity and loads of malt. Bitter after taste. Fairly average pint nothing special. alexcandy (11), chatillon-sur-seine, France May 21, 2008 Nice strong heavy beer. Great with food and I think a very winter drink. Lots of flavor and depth to this. So much better than the bottle broadside.
