18/10/2011 50cl bottle @ Klaas’ place - BB: 31/12/2011 (2011-559) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!

Clear ruby red beer, small off-white to yellowish creamy head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: very sweet fruity, peaches, apples and pears, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, surprisingly, peaches, dried plums, sweet mango, apple skin, very little bitter. Aftertaste: caramel, some citrus, toast, bit bready. Sometimes the English dó surprise me.

Clear dark mber coloured liquid with a brown shade to it. Pours a cream/white head with a sticky texture. Aromascape consists of wood, citrus, mist, sap, a hint of smoke, a nice fruity/herby twang.. Taste is nicely bitter and sour with a fine malty base. Has a oomphy kick to it which I like. It puts emphasis on the malt and gives a nice contrast to the hoppy side. Mouthfeel is pretty full because of the kick, although the liquid seems a bit more watery than what i expected. This, however, accentuates the gentle hoppy and herby side. A nice mix here from Adnams, definitely among the best ones I’ve tasted from them. I have to try this again after my cold has gone away, it might be blocking away a lot of nice tastes and aromas.

Clear dark mahogany body, off-white head. Aroma of berries, chocolate, dark fruity hops, nuts and caramelly malt. Flavour is rich with malt, high floral hops bitterness, nuts and fruits, piney hoppy aftertaste. Very nicely balanced heavy english ale.

Rich amlt aroma and flavour backed up by a good supply of classic English hop tones. This is a classic English style that is perfect on a winters night with a good stew or osso bucco.
