A fine, heartwarming English Beer, rich in flavours of malt and hops.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a translucent red with decent amount of head. Has a sickeningly sweet taste followed by lingering bitter aftertaste, the moderately repulsive combination of which I have always associated, though probably not correctly, with English beers.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice red with a rich frothy head that lingers. Aroma is slightly sweet. Flavor is slightly sweet and bitter at the same time. Caramel flavors are strongest. Flavor improves as the beer warms. Very nice.

Reddish brown with towering head that settles over the hours. Nice tight little musty aroma. Hearty nutty, sweet ale flavors. Grape, caramel, pine. Good warming beer that’s not too heavy.

Bottled. Pours a clear amber, with a cream coloured big head. Fruity malty aroma, with notes of caramel and hops. Taste is Fruity, some caramel, and a nice medium mouyhfeel. I really likes this one

Smells like raisins rum and chocoleet in a big old glass. Tastes like it too, finishes long and cocoa bitter after a solid mouthfeel. I have been drinking crap beer too much recently (been saving). More of these please.

Murky brown. Tingly carbonation above a smooth body. Toasty, multi-grain malts; only mildly sweet. Rich fruit notes -- apple, pear, raisins, currant/raisin, and orange rind. Drying hops deposit notes of grass and earth in the mouth. Bitter-ish aftertaste. Lively flavors and aromas. Not too shabby.

Bottle from Morrisons. Dark Red. Aroma of dark fruits, seaweed, toffee, oranges, butter. Firm mouthfeel, earthy bitter finish. Good stuff.

Bottle: Dark amber coloured, firm off-white head, lasting; strong fruity nose (dried fruit, cherries, port), some herbal hops from behind, also some bubble-gum aroma; full-bodied sweetish-fruity start; fruity-bitter vinous taste with a tinge of roasted malts; dry, bitter-fruity, long lasting hoppy finish. A mighty brew, very well quaffable !
