A fine, heartwarming English Beer, rich in flavours of malt and hops.

Very enjoyable, cocoa and coffee flavors, mixed with rich maltness. Medium-strong mouthfeel to it. Very good

I liked this one more than the ESB from ADnams....Trying saying that feckin name 3 times real fast. Bitter malts....caramel and some chocolate aftertaste...not too bad.

Bottle at the Royal Mile, Des Moines. Pours a sorta darkish brown with a thin beige head. Nose of sweet malts, some bitterness is detected. A little thin on the mouthfeel....flavors of caramel malts, and slight hints some choco-malts too. The hop bitterness comes through in the end along at the end. Eh, it’s ok.

Pours with the appearance of iced tea and an ample beige head. Nice lacing around the glass. Aroma is straight malt with the stereotypical English bitterness. Palate is thin, but not too watery. Taste is a major malt infusion that is subdued by slightly tangy hops. Finish is the aforementioned English bitter. Nice beer, one that I would revisit.

bottle from brickskeller. aroma: malty sweet. looks dense and brown. flavor: straightforwardly malty, with a sweeter finish than i like. pretty decent, but not great.

re-rate Still a deep red color. Malt still dominates the flavor but the hops are much more defined. Some toffee in the aroma as well. Lightly bitter flavor with a sweet finish. Raisins and toffee abound with some fairly citric hops. Still too fizzy for my taste but an enjoyable beer nonetheless.

A bit more carbonated and sweeter than I prefer but not a bad brew. I was not able to appreciate the hops past the sweetness of this beer.

Pours medium brown with some red highlights and thin beige head. Aroma of sweet malt. Medium to high carbonation. Flavor of caramel malt, and slight hints of vanilla and cocoa. The hop bitterness is considerably higher than I expected, but appreciated. A little dry, but overall not too bad.
