Dark brown color with a nice head and decent lacing. Aroma was somewhat buttery, as with many an English Ale. This one tasted of caramel and toffee with a buttery type flavor. There was a little bit of hops in the finish, but nothing overwhelming. Mouthfeel was the highlight, nice and creamy. Otherwise, just another beverage. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Courtesy Degarth. Root beer or cola looking body, lighter brown edges. Tan head, about a finger thick, fairly lasting. Not much, if any lacing. Fades into a layer of bubbles that stay atop the liquid throughout. Plums, tropical fruits, malts, spices and some phenols. Tastes pretty similar, but the alcohol hints drop out. Tons of sweet malts and a slight bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Finish is malts, dark fruits and spice. Lingers on the tongue and in the back of the throat for quite a while. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, China

Gentle coppery scents. Gentle soft, velvety mouthfeel. Sweet malty entry. Alcohol punch in background and finish, some hop to keep it going. Straightforward and tastes stronger than it is, easy to sip. gam (1128), brisbane, Australia
