Tasting notes and ingredients We’ve used lots of hops from North America – Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, Amarillo and Citra – because we just love the delicious, big, bold, citrus and pine flavours and aromas they bring to the beer. To balance out all this hoppy goodness we’ve added Rye, plus some Pale Ale and Cara Malt, to imbue sweetness, body and balance as well as some lovely subtle toffee flavours. Want to know more? The recipe for our Rye IPA was created by Adnams brewer (and certified hop freak) Belinda, who was excited to be able to let her passion for American craft beers shine through in this flavoursome brew. Jack Brand Rye IPA is available for a limited time in 30L kegs in selected outlets. Food Matches Pair our Rye IPA with spicy Mexican dishes or hot Caribbean flavours.

Kopparfärgad öl med lättare gulvitt skum. Doften är framförallt karamell och citrus men även toner av rostat bröd. Detta återkommer i smaken med viss nötighet. Rågen märks förvånansvärt lite.

Bottle, bought @Kolding Vinhandel, Kolding. Pours clear amber chestnut with a small, staying, creamy white film head. Aroma has sweet malts, caramel, light spicy, citrus, a touch of cheese. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, caramel, mild spicy. Fine hops bitterness that lingers.

Fra fat på Charlie’s Bar, København juli-14: mahognyfarget med kort beige skum. Lett karbonering og slank kropp gjør den lett å helle over drøvelen. Litt rugsyrlighet kler humlen godt. Tørr mot slutten. Men alt i alt en lettvekter, ingen match for Mike sin rye ipa.

Bottle from More than Beer. BB 31 03 15. Clear copper coloured, with an off-white thin head. Nose is crystal and caramel malts, rye, grassy hops. Flavour is caramel malts, rye, grassy, fairly bitter, with a citric hoppiness. Not hopped quite like IPA standards, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Finish is fairly bitter and dry. Well balanced.

Bottle from Adnams cellar. Light spice malt aroma. Malt forward taste, very little evidence of multi-hop input. Medium bitter finish. Beige.

Bottle from the Adnams shop in Southwold. Pours deep amber with a negligible head. Sweet, almost tropical flavours up front, then a hefty bitterness kicks in. Strong spicy notes add interest, before toffee flavours come through to balance the bitterness. A rich, wine-like mouthfeel is set off against a very dry finish. Yet another great beer from Adnams; an aggressive US-style brew is given Adnams’ trademark superb balance and mouthfeel. Nice one.

Pours a clear but quite dark amber color, topped with a very moderate off color white head, The aroma is very pleasant - citrusy malts and some caramel are easily picked up. The taste is nicely bitter with some fruity addition. Can’t really taste the rye, but still. Another decent Adnams brew.
